About

Liotrum è un progetto che nasce dalla passione per la fotografia e l’esplorazione. Siamo quattro siciliani, amici da una vita, con i medesimi interessi: riscoprire tempo e luoghi dimenticati, abbandonati, distrutti, in una parola urbex (urban exploration).

Il degrado e l’abbandono sono un esempio del disagio sociale e culturale che viviamo al giorno d’oggi, disagio che nasce dall’incessante necessità di sostituire il vecchio con il nuovo anche se ancora utile e funzionante. Siamo diventati schiavi del consumismo e abbiamo nuove necessità, scaturite da un incessante bombardamento mediatico e pubblicitario.
Il nostro intento non è certo quello di educare, bensì di suscitare interesse e far rivivere con l’immaginazione quello che c’era e che è stato dimenticato ed abbandonato, sfruttando le emozioni e le sensazioni che scaturiscono attraverso le immagini.

Edifici pericolanti, non cercate di imitarci.

Liotrum is a project born from the passion for photography and exploration. We are four Sicilians, lifelong friends with the same interest: to rediscover time through forgotten, abandoned, destroyed places, in one word urbex (urban exploration).

The deterioration and abandonment are an example of the social and cultural unease that we live nowadays. Unease that comes from the incessant need to replace the old with the new even if still useful and functional. We have become slaves of consumerism and we have new needs originated by an incessant media and advertising bombardment. Our aim is not to educate, but to arouse interest and relive through imagination what has been there and now is forgotten and abandoned, using the emotions and the feelings that flow through the images.
